#86 Planning a long weekend (06/29/12)

This weekend is going to be the first of many weekend renos/cleaning.  There needs to be a balance between eating and calories burned to keep ourselves fueled to prevent burn out.  Tonight we are having pizza.  Not the best choice, but it is a home cooked one to save the extra grease that comes in a restaurant cooked order.  We are going to add extra red peppers and pineapple, with a bit of extra old cheddar to the pizza to give a bit more whole food calories.  Then we will be assessing our to do list for the house next door.  Mostly starting with getting rid of a bucket of stank water in the kitchen, cleaning up old pet accidents with vinegar, and starting on clearing out the garage.

Saturday morning standard breakfast of toast with fruit or cereal with fruit I think.  We will be, hopefully, raring to go.  On busy days, snacks and or lunches are where we go awry.  Usually we don’t eat until it is late, close to lupper.  But then we end up over eating quick to make crap food.  So this is where I need to plan in advance.   Depending on how we are doing I think a half a protein shake as a morning snack will be useful.

For lunch, I would suggest chicken wraps, but at this point we don’t have the ingredients at home, and no time to shop for them before tomorrow afternoon.  We need something more than soup though.  Maybe we can have grilled cheese and cucumber for lunch tomorrow.  That should work.

Dinner Saturday, by this point, we are going to be hungry, foreman grilled chicken, Rice, n Veg, or Deb’s Tex Mex dinner.

Sunday morning we’ll have smozzle brunch, which is an egg compilation with peppers, salsa, onions, and corn on toast with a sprinkle of cheese.  Then we need to go grocery shopping for the week while C & R are at church.  Once home again, I should make slow cooker chilli for dinner, while my wife cuts the veggies for the week’s lunches.  With the chilli on Sunday we should have left over’s for lunch on Monday.  Sunday afternoon snack, probably protein shakes.

Monday Standard breakfast, chilli for lunch, wraps for dinner.  I think I’m covered.  Try to avoid the Weekend Achilles Heel.

Happy weekends everyone.
